Roving Bushtops to Migrate to Northern Serengeti - TRAVELINDEXSerengeti National Park, Tanzania, October 13, 2024 / TRAVELINDEX / Bushtops Camps in East Africa is thrilled to announce that  Roving Bushtops in Tanzania will have a new seasonal base in the north of Serengeti National Park from 1st June 2025.

The mobile camp has traditionally moved twice a year, in sync with the migration herds, between the central  and southern Serengeti. However, Bushtops has now secured a wonderful new location in the northern Serengeti, just 15-minutes’ drive from the Mara River and Kogatende airstrip.  This means that the mobile camp will now rove between the southern and northern Serengeti only.

The terrain in the north makes for fantastic game viewing – and the vistas are gorgeous, stretching away to both sunset and sunrise and in close proximity to the Mara River and Bologna for incredible rhino sightings. This means that from December to March Roving Bushtops will be in Kusini in the south, before folding up, as if by magic (watch the amazing timelapse setup video here!), and moving to its new base in the northern Serengeti from June until October. The new location is around 17 kilometres (a 40-minute game drive ) from Serengeti Bushtops, making it easier than ever to combine both Tanzanian camps within a single visit, or even better, to add Mara Bushtops just over the Kenyan border, making visits trebly memorable.

“This strategic move allows us to provide our guests with unparalleled access to the Serengeti’s most spectacular wildlife events,” said owners Andrew and Claudia Stuart. “By concentrating on the southern and northern Serengeti, we can ensure our guests enjoy front row seats to all  the migration action.”

Bushtops offers unparalleled “wild luxury” safaris in East Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. The family-owned portfolio includes Mara Bushtops in Kenya’s Masai Mara as well as Serengeti Bushtops and Roving Bushtops in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park.   Roving Bushtops is a mobile camp that strategically relocates between the southern and northern Serengeti following the Great Migration herds. Each property provides five-star accommodation under canvas, expert guides and personalized service, all while maintaining a commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism practices.
