Bangalore (India) – February 18, 2020 (travelindex.com) – The World Tourism Forum Lucerne international start-up community continues to grow. In December the WTFL went to Bangalore, India for the 1st Indian Start-Up Innovation Camp. WTFL is working on expanding its operations globally and aim to build a thriving start-up community around the world.
Over 200 submissions from Indian start-ups were whittled down to just 16 finalists who were invited to attend the event from 17-18 December. The finalists had the privilege of pitching their business models to the jury and an attentive audience of industry leaders and investors.
During the two-day event, participants benefited from talks by inspirational speakers and insightful panel discussions. They attended workshops and received invaluable advice from experienced business coaches.
The winners from each of the four categories – Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce were all awarded 10’000 USD Start-Up Innovation Award prize money. They also receive a two-year coaching programme and an invitation to participate in the WTFL 2021 conference in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Start-Up Innovation Camp is a flagship initiative of World Tourism Forum Lucerne in Switzerland which aims to boost the innovation ecosystem in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry by connecting innovators across the industry to industry players, investors and helping scale and commercialise their innovative solutions.
With the first ever Start-Up Camp in India we hope to catalyse the strong start-up culture in the subcontinent and provide a one-stop platform to help bridge the critical gap between innovation providers and the needs of solution seekers in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.
The Start-Up Camp is designed, managed and implemented by the World Tourism Forum Lucerne team in Switzerland and welcomes all stakeholders in the start-up community to join us in Bangalore.
